Runners' auction raises funds for cancer research

A group of runners from the South Bay Team in Training is sponsoring
a fundraiser Sept. 25 to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
in its quest to find a cure for blood cancers.
The Fall Marathon Team has been training throughout the summer
for two upcoming marathons.
The Upper Manhattan Lounge of Manhattan Beach will host the
fundraiser, where attendees will have the chance to bid on
bachelors, bachelorettes, and silent-auction items.
Winning bids on bachelors and bachelorettes will include a
date package.
Tickets are $30 for general admission and $40 for VIP tickets.
Price includes dinner, drink specials, and door prizes. VIP
tickets include early admission for a special meet-and-greet
cocktail hour with the bachelors and bachelorettes, as well
as VIP seating.
Master of ceremonies is KIIS-102.7 FM's Manny on the Streets.
Local band the Jane Doe's will perform and be up for bid.
The event is at 7 p.m. at 3600 Highland Ave., Manhattan Beach.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training is a comprehensive
training program for runners, walkers, cyclists, and triathletes
to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
Its goal is to increase funding to cure leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin's disease, myeloma, and improve the quality of life
of patients and their families. |
